Rowan Contains without heat will not have access to a warming shelter this week, but that doesn’t mean they will be left out in the cold.
City and county officials teamed up with the Salvation Army in the past to open warming shelters, but are now offering to put those in need up in a local hotel.
Gateway Area Homeless shelter spokesperson Ashley Straka says the option will be open to Rowan County residents through March 1st.
