Olivia Lohmeier Claims OVC Offensive Player of the Week for the Second Straight Week

For the second time in as many weeks, Morehead State sophomore outside hitter Olivia Lohmeier has been named Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

The Cincinnati native helped Morehead State to a perfect weekend at the Blue and Gold Tournament in Toledo, Ohio. In three matches, Lohmeier landed 45 winners (4.50 per set), hitting .239 on the weekend. She added eight block assists and four service aces to total 53 points.

Lohmeier kicked the weekend off with a bang against host Toledo, establishing a career-high with 21 terminations. The 21 kills came on 48 swings as she hit .333. At the net, Lohmeier turned away three shots as she totaled 22.5 points, tying a career-high.

She added 14 kills and three more blocks versus Manhattan, totaling 15.5 points in the match. In the weekend's finale, Lohmeier connected on 10 kills, reaching double-digit kills for the seventh time this season. She additionally tied a career-high, landing four service aces to help the Eagles down Duquesne.

On the season, Lohmeier ranks second in the OVC in kills (125), points (143.5), and points per set (4.22), while ranking fourth in kills per set (3.68). She also ranks seventh in the league in hitting percentage at .301. Lohmeier also ranks third on the team with 27 blocks on the season, helping her team lead the OVC and rank among the top 25 in the NCAA in total blocks.

Lohmeier and the Eagles return to action on Friday at the West Virginia Classic, hosted by West Virginia. The four-team event also includes Penn and Wake Forest.
