Dr. Johnathan Nelson, associate professor of management and associate dean for the Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology's School of Business Administration, has been selected to serve on the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Committee for the Advancement of Professional Ethics (CAPE).

CAPE is an ad-hoc committee that focuses on the ethical implications of professional decisions for the practitioners of industrial and organizational (IO) psychology, a field that addresses workplace issues at both the individual and corporate level. The committee's purpose is to help IO psychologists recognize and navigate ethical matters, raise the profile of ethics-focused discourse and to support the inclusion of ethics as part of graduate education in IO psychology.

CAPE is part of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), which is the premier membership organization for the science and practice of IO psychology.

"The promotion of ethics in education and practice has been at the core of my teaching and research activity for some time," Nelson said. "I am delighted to have been selected to work with this group to help support professionals and students in preparing for the ethical issues they face."
