MSU education programs earn multiple top rankings from Teaching Degree Search

Morehead State University

Multiple programs from Morehead State University’s Ernst and Sara Lane Volgenau College of Education have earned state and national rankings for excellence and affordability.

MSU's undergraduate and graduate-level education programs are being recognized by Teaching Degree Search (TeachingDegreeSearch.com), an online resource for students seeking university-level programs and business colleges. MSU programs are ranked for:

  • Ranked No. 1 in 2021 Most Popular Online Curriculum & Instruction Schools in Kentucky
  • Ranked No. 1 in 2021 Best Value Curriculum & Instruction Graduate Certificate Schools in Kentucky
  • Ranked No. 2 in 2021 Best Value Curriculum & Instruction Graduate Certificate Schools in the Southeast Region
  • Ranked No. 6 nationally in 2021 Best Value Curriculum & Instruction Graduate Certificate Schools
  • Ranked No. 43 nationally in 2021 Best Value Curriculum & Instruction Schools

“Our Volgenau College faculty and staff’s hard work and dedication to our students and region make these rankings possible. It is especially exciting that our recent efforts to address the affordability of our graduate program offerings are leading us to be considered a ‘best value,’” said Dr. Antony Norman, dean of the Volgenau College of Education.

“I am grateful to the Morehead State administration for working with us to lower graduate tuition costs. With that barrier removed, or at least somewhat lessened, I know those who begin graduate studies with us will find we are not only affordable but also offer the strongest quality programming to strengthen further their teaching skills as well as prepare them for future educational leadership opportunities. Truly, affordability PLUS strong academic quality completes the ‘best value’ equation,” added Norman.

MSU is discounting graduate tuition on all 600-level courses within the Volgenau College of Education. The rate for the next five years will be the same as the University’s undergraduate tuition rate, which is currently $374 per credit hour.
