Morehead State University’s RN to BSN program has been nationally ranked by NursingProcess.org.

Out of 169 accredited programs in the Southeast Region (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia), MSU was ranked in the top 5 (#4).

A full list of rankings can be found at https://www.nursingprocess.org/best-rn-to-bsn-programs/#southeast-region

MSU’s RN to BSN program trains students with the knowledge, skills and professional attitude to take nursing careers to the next level. Students who possess an unrestricted RN license are eligible, and the curriculum is delivered entirely online in an interactive web-based platform.

Upon graduation, students will provide advanced nursing care and improve healthcare for a diverse patient population. The RN to BSN program was also ranked as one of the top online RN to BSN programs in Kentucky in 2019 by RegisteredNursing.org.

Dr. Lynn Parsons, professor and department chair in MSU’s Department of Nursing, said the RN to BSN program earns national recognition due to its faculty’s passion for student learning both in-person and online.

“Morehead State University’s nursing faculty goal of educating Registered Nurses (RN) at the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree level is in keeping with the Institute of Medicine (IOM) aim of having 80% of nurses at the bedside hold the BSN degree,” Parsons said. “Our nursing faculty have expertise in not only the nursing profession, but they are skilled educators in online teaching-learning modalities. They have partnered with MSUs Office of Distance Education and Instructional Design to provide state-of-the-art online nursing education.”

NursingProcess.org is an online resource that simplifies access to nursing education and career information to help students make better choices. Currently, the site reaches out to more than 100,000 students every month, from all over the country.
