MSPR Adds Advisory Board Members

WMKY (90.3FM) has announced three new members to its Community Advisory Board (CAB).

Joining the nine member board are Nona Camuel, Dr. Gary LaFleur and Colby Thatcher.

The CAB assists Morehead State Public Radio by making recommendations on programming, fundraising and public relations to build the listening audience, expand the operational base of support, offer opportunities for students and provide a better community service through educational and cultural radio programming in the community.

Serving a three year term, members of the board are volunteers. CAB meetings are held quarterly at MSPR’s studios and are open to the public. The next CAB meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Serving more than 20 counties throughout eastern Kentucky, Morehead State Public Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day from the MSU campus. In addition, MSPR’s website offers a listing of community events, live web stream and archived audio.

Paul Hitchcock earned his Masters in Communications from Morehead State University and Bachelors in Radio-TV/Psychology from Georgetown College. A veteran broadcaster for more than 40 years and an avid fan of blues, jazz and American roots music. Hitchcock has been with WMKY since 1986 and was named General Manager in 2003. He currently hosts "Muddy Bottom Blues" (Fri., 8pm-9pm), "Nothin' But The Blues" (Sat., 8pm-12am), "Sunday Night Jazz Showcase" and "Live From The Jazz Lounge" (Sun., 8pm-9pm) and "The Golden Age of Radio" (Sun., 2pm-3pm).
