The Morehead Tourism Commission, Morehead Conference Center and the GFWC Morehead Woman’s Club have partnered together to add another trail stop to Main Street.

Located behind the Morehead Conference Center, the trail stop features a table, trail information kiosk and two designated parking spaces for trail users.

GFWC Morehead Woman’s Club donated funds raised during one of their recent Charity Balls to support the trail town efforts.  Morehead Tourism and Morehead Conference Center matched their donation for the project.

“I appreciate all the effort that was put in to this project,” said Morehead Tourism Executive Director Joy Brown.  “We truly appreciate Morehead Woman’s Club supporting our vision in welcoming trail users to our community.”

Morehead Conference Center Director James Breeze said, “this is a great addition to downtown as we continue to see more and more visitors coming in to use our trails. This is a great partnership with a great client of the facility.”

The GFWC Morehead Woman's Club mission is to improve their communities through volunteering.

Founded in 1909, by Cora Wilson Stewart and members of the Shakespearean Study Group, the GFWC Morehead Woman's Club became advocates for literacy. Other project the club focuses on is the awareness and prevention of domestic violence, being advocates for children, supporting veterans, Canine Companies, Shot @ Life, and St. Jude Research Hospital. The club is dedicated to community service and constantly adding new projects.
