Londell King Jr., a 6-foot-7 forward from Gulf Coast State College (Fla.) has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Morehead State men's basketball program.
King will be a sophomore during the 2017-18 school year.
"We are so excited to add Londell to our program. We have recruited him all season and watched him progress into a versatile player in a very competitive junior college league. We have had great success with players from that league and he will continue that trend for us," said head coach Preston Spradlin. "Adding him to our talented sophomore class gives us experience for next season and depth for the future of our program."
King, a native of Tallahassee, Fla., averaged 10.0 points and 6.2 rebounds for Gulf Coast State in 2016-17. He made 14 starts in 25 games and shot an impressive 60 percent from the floor, which ranked in the top 50 in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
He was named Second Team All Panhandle Conference following his freshman season.
He attended Godby High School in Tallahassee, where he averaged 12.1 points and 9.3 rebounds, while shooting 65 percent.
"Londell is a very versatile player. He can play both inside and out and is skilled and strong in the post," said Spradlin. "He can step out and shoot, and he also has the ability to make plays off the bounce."
King joins Cedric Wright, of Chipola Junior College (Fla.), as the second member of Morehead State's 2017 class. They both have three season of eligibility.
Wright, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., averaged 10 points and 4.1 rebounds during his lone season at Chipola. He was named First Team All Panhandle Conference.
Morehead State finished 14-16 a season ago. They went 10-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play, which ranked second in the league.
