Morehead State Athletics is excited to host its 2019 Swing into Spring Event that will feature a beach volleyball matchup against Louisville, baseball taking on Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Illinois, and the MSU football team hitting the gridiron for their annual spring game.

Fans are invited to attend all events free of charge and are encouraged to set up tailgating spots in designated areas.

"This is an exciting time to be involved with Morehead State Athletics," said MSU Interim Athletic Director Jamie Gordon. "We hope to see all of the Eagle Empire and the great community of Morehead come out to show support for our student-athletes that put in many hours on and off the field. The Swing into Spring Event is a great way to showcase our sports that are ongoing and a great a look into what is set to be an exciting 2019 football season."

Beach Volleyball is set to play two matches against the Louisville Cardinals at Fazoli's Breadstick Beach beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET and 12:30 p.m. ET. The beach Eagles are having their best season since the program's inception in 2017, posting a 14-7 overall record.

Morehead State baseball, winners of the 2018 OVC Tournament Championship, is off to a 24-13 start and are a stellar 17-1 when playing at Allen Field. MSU head football coach Rob Tenyer will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the 2:00 p.m. ET start.

The main event of the evening will feature the Eagles' football team taking the Jayne Stadium turf at 6:00 p.m. ET for their final tune up before their fall 2019 camp begins. The team returns nearly 70 players from a season ago, and are looking to take advantage of a six-game home slate in 2019.

"Our guys have come to battle this spring and I've been pleased with the grit we've brought to each of our practices," said Tenyer. "We have a great group of guys returning and I look forward to seeing the community coming out to support our men."

Morehead State football fans will also be able to purchase their tailgate passes for the 2019 season at a discounted price during Saturday's spring game.
