Construction is underway for the City of Morehead’s new Police and 911 center.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the facility was held last week with work on the project scheduled to begin today. Morehead Police Chief Derrick Blevins addressed city, county and state officials during the ceremony saying the project has been decades in the making.
Blevins says things eventually came to a peak during a discussion with Mayor Laura White-Brown after the current police station flooded in 2019.
CMW is the firm responsible for the design phase of the project. Packs + Walker is handling construction.
