Blues guitarist Mike Zito’s “Rock N Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry” 2019 release on Ruf Records, finds the talented guitarist broadening his boundaries even as it marks a return to his roots.

The album consists of twenty Chuck Berry classics performed by Zito and an impressive array of guest guitarists including Joe Bonamassa, Walter Trout, Eric Gales, Robben Ford, Sonny Landreth, Luther Dickinson, Albert Castiglia, Anders Osborne, and Chuck’s grandson, Charlie Berry III.

Other musicians performing on the release include Matthew Johnson (drums), Terry Dry (bass guitar) and Lewis Stephens (piano and organ).

Produced by Zito, the album was recorded at his own Marz Studio. It was engineered by Zach Feemster, with mixing and mastering by David Farrell.

Songs include “Johnny B. Goode,” “Memphis,” “School Days,” “Too Much Monkey Business,” “Wee Wee Hours” and many others.

Paul Hitchcock earned his Masters in Communications from Morehead State University and Bachelors in Radio-TV/Psychology from Georgetown College. A veteran broadcaster for more than 40 years and an avid fan of blues, jazz and American roots music. Hitchcock has been with WMKY since 1986 and was named General Manager in 2003. He currently hosts "Muddy Bottom Blues" (Fri., 8pm-9pm), "Nothin' But The Blues" (Sat., 8pm-12am), "Sunday Night Jazz Showcase" and "Live From The Jazz Lounge" (Sun., 8pm-9pm) and "The Golden Age of Radio" (Sun., 2pm-3pm). He also serves as producer for "A Time For Tales" and "The Reader's Notebook."
