The Austin Peay men's tennis team shut out Morehead Sate 4-0 in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Friday as the Eagles' season came to a close.
The Govs moved on the semifinals with a 13-7 record. The Eagles wrapped up the 2015 campaign at 6-16.
In doubles, Dimitar Ristovski and Iago Seffrin topped sophomores Ritchie Kruunenberg and Gabriel Ruiz, 8-6, on court one. Juniors Garrett Mandrell and Enrique Samudio fell 8-4 to Manuel Montenegro and Aleh Drobysh at No. 3.
The Govs clinched the match with singles wins on courts 2, 3 and 6. Freshman Sabastian Penaloza lost 6-2, 6-3 to Aleksas Tverijonas at No. 2, while Ruiz succumbed 6-3, 6-3 to Aaron Jumonville at No. 3. On court six, Samudio was topped 6-3, 6-2 by Drobysh.
Morehead State did not have any seniors on the 2015 roster.
