Meeting on ruffed grouse management set for Aug. 24

Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources

The public is invited to learn more about the state’s ruffed grouse management plans during a community meeting hosted by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources at 7 p.m. (Eastern) Friday, Aug. 24, at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park near Prestonsburg.

Experts from the department’s Wildlife Division will discuss plans for upcoming projects to help restore grouse in Kentucky. Biologists will be available to answer questions from the audience and outline long-term goals for the program.

The meeting is open for the public.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources manages, regulates, enforces and promotes responsible use of all fish and wildlife species, their habitats, public wildlife areas and waterways for the benefit of those resources and for public enjoyment.

Paul Hitchcock earned his Masters in Communications from Morehead State University and Bachelors in Radio-TV/Psychology from Georgetown College. He also serves as producer for "A Time For Tales" and "The Reader's Notebook."
