Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell visited Saint Claire Healthcare on Friday, thanking healthcare workers who have worked the front line of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The republican announced a new distribution of more than $7.8 million for the facility. According to a press release from a McConnell spokesperson, it is specifically because of its work to treat patients regardless of their ability to pay.
McConnell said it is important to reopen the economy and get back to normal, but that it is really important for everyone to wear a mask.
Saint Claire Healthcare has already received $17.4 million from the CARES Act and a $900-thousand dollar opioid response grant.
