The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on an outdoor basketball court, to be erected on the Academic-Athletic Center parking lot.

"Light Up the Lot" will feature a variety of events for MSU students, alumni and supporters. There will be a Kid's Zone with inflatables for children as well as games and prizes for students.

"We are looking forward to introducing our team on Oct. 16," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Sean Woods. "This should be a fun way to kick off the season, and we hope everyone will come out and enjoy a great night of activities. We can't wait for fans to get to know our players, coaches and support staff because we value the importance of the campus and community in helping build a successful program."

Woods will be joined by first-year Head Women's Coach Greg Todd, who also will introduce his squad.

"This should be a unique way to kick off the season," said Todd. "We are excited to be a part of the activities, and hope fans will get to know our players and staff. We want to see a big crowd at this event."
