KDE announces dates for Commissioner's Listening Tour to gather public input

To gather input on long-term aspirations for the Commonwealth’s education system, the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is excited to announce that Commissioner of Education and Chief Learner Jason E Glass will be conducting a virtual listening tour April 6-May 6.

Nine sessions will be held across the state, one in each cooperative region and one in Louisville. Sessions will be in the evening and will last approximately 90 minutes.

“I hope to see many stakeholders engaged in these virtual meetings and I look forward to the rich dialogue that will inform our continuous improvement efforts," Glass said.

KDE is in the early planning phases of this work and more information will be released in the coming weeks.

Pre-registration is available for a date you think will work best for you. If you are not sure which date will work for you at this time and wish to receive an invitation for more than one of the sessions, please select all of the dates that may work.

•April 29, 6-7:30 p.m. ET: Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative (Shelbyville)

•May 4, 6-7:30 p.m. ET: Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (Hazard)

Paul Hitchcock earned his Masters in Communications from Morehead State University and Bachelors in Radio-TV/Psychology from Georgetown College. A veteran broadcaster for more than 40 years and an avid fan of blues, jazz and American roots music. Hitchcock has been with WMKY since 1986 and was named General Manager in 2003. He currently hosts "Muddy Bottom Blues" (Fri., 8pm-9pm), "Nothin' But The Blues" (Sat., 8pm-12am), "Sunday Night Jazz Showcase" and "Live From The Jazz Lounge" (Sun., 8pm-9pm) and "The Golden Age of Radio" (Sun., 2pm-3pm). He also serves as producer for "A Time For Tales" and "The Reader's Notebook."
