Jenny Wiley State Resort Park Lodge Re-Opens

Trip Advisor

State and local officials held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the renovated May Lodge at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, which is now open.

A fire in March, 2016, forced officials to close the main lodge building, which included the park restaurant and lounge. The lodge rooms remained open during repairs and the restaurant moved to the conference center.

“We are grateful that no one was hurt and the park was able to remain open over the last year,” Tourism, Arts and Heritage Secretary Don Parkinson said. “The renovated lodge is impressive and should attract even more visitors to the park.”

The repairs cost about $1.7 million. They renovations include a new lounge, new furniture, wall covering, flooring, windows and kitchen equipment. Redesign work improved views from the lodge of Dewey Lake. Most of the work is completed.

Parkinson, Parks Commissioner Donnie Holland and along with local officials took part in a ribbon cutting to celebrate the reopening. Guests were able to tour and see the improvements.

The park has a lodge and conference center as well as fishing, boating, marina, swimming, elk viewing tours and other recreational opportunities.
