Dr. Jamie Studts is a psychologist, affiliated with the University of Kentucky Department of Behavioral Science and the Department of Psychology, and the only psychologist we know who has published a paper in the journal “Harmful Algae”. His interest is in patient information and patient decision-making, and he is an expert on how patients make decisions about screening for cancer and undergoing treatment for cancer. This is important for Kentucky, because we have to change the way patients and doctors think about managing lung cancer, the most common cause of cancer death for Kentuckians.

Tip: If someone you love is aged 55-74, has smoked over 30 years, and is currently smoking or quit less than 15 years ago, they are eligible for lung cancer screening. Talk to your doctor about this important test.
