MSU Athletics

Following a 20-win campaign that saw Morehead State volleyball capture the third seed in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament and the OVC's Player of the Year, the Eagles have finalized their 2019 schedule.

The 29-match slate features 15 home matches and sees Morehead State hosting two early-season tournaments. The Eagles will once again host the Eagle Challenge and Comfort Inn-Vitational, welcoming in two stout fields.

For the first time since 2016, Morehead State will open on the road, traveling south to Rock Hill, S.C. to compete in the Cristi Curtis Volleyball Invitational. The two-day event hosted by Winthrop also includes Davidson and North Carolina A&T. The trip to the Palmetto State also marks the team's first trip to Winthrop since 2008.

Following the season-opening road trip, Morehead State returns home to host the Eagle Challenge for the ninth consecutive year. The tournament which features Georgia State, Presbyterian, and Providence will serve as the home opener for the sixth-straight season.

During the season's third week, the Eagles travel to Big 12 country for the second consecutive season. This season, Morehead State heads west to Lawrence, Kan. to compete in the Kansas Volleyball Invitational. The three-day event features three matches with Power-Five foes as the Eagles face Arizona, Kansas, and Syracuse.

To wrap up the tournament portion of its 2019 slate, Morehead State hosts the Comfort Inn-Vitational, putting on the event for the 13th time in program history. This season, the Eagles welcome Coppin State, Marshall, and Southeastern Louisiana for the three-day event.

Morehead State wraps non-conference play with a midweek matchup in mid-October, hosting West Virginia from the Big 12. The match coming in the midst of conference play marks the fourth time the Eagles have welcomed the Mountaineers to Morehead and the first since 2013.

Ohio Valley Conference play features five sets of home-and-home matches and six individual matches to comprise the 16-game slate. The Eagles will face Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Tennessee State, and Tennessee Tech in a pair of matches apiece, splitting the two games at one another's home gyms.

Of the six individual league matches, Morehead State splits those matches evenly between home and road contests. The Eagles welcome in Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, and SIUE while traveling to Murray State, Southeast Missouri, and UT Martin.

The Ohio Valley Conference Tournament is slated for November 20-24 and will be played at the home of the regular season champion.
