As COVID-19 cases continue to increase, the Commonwealth’s top health official is working to stress the severity of the situation.

Last week saw the most new cases of the virus in Kentucky since March, and nearly 800 new cases were reported yesterday.

Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack is continuing the push for increased vaccination as Delta variant infections, and re-infections, continue to be reported in communities statewide.

Stack reported COVID-19 infections have increased five-fold in Kentucky since the beginning of the month, with hospitalizations, ICU admissions and ventilator use tripling alongside them.
