Social Moms

As part of the Saving Our Appalachian Region initiative, 5th District Congressman Hal Rogers will be joined by the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for a listening session in Morehead on Wednesday, August 6th.

The Republican says Dr. Thomas Frieden will be in Morehead to learn more about eastern Kentucky’s health problems.

The region ranks among the worst in the United States when it comes to incidents of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and drug overdose mortality rates.

“These are alarming statistics and he’s going to access the problem in healthcare and try to come up with ideas about what we can do to fight these problems.” –Hal Rogers

Also appearing with Rogers and Frieden will be CDC Deputy Director, Dr. Judith Monroe, who is a Kentucky native. They’ll be at the Morehead Conference Center on Wednesday, August 6th from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
