A local group is hoping to bring a new addition to Morehead’s City Park Complex.
Members of the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy have completed many projects through the years. The city's dog park, also located in the complex, is among those projects. Keeping in that same vein, the academy’s 2020 class is making plans to put in a beach volleyball court.
Dylan Lambert is the Executive Secretary for Rowan County Judge-Executive Harry Clark, and a member of the 2020 class. He says they are working in cooperation with the City of Morehead’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Now, Lambert says, comes the issue of funding the project. Fortunately, the price tag isn’t too high.
Lambert says the class will be pushing for fundraising throughout the winter months, with hopes of getting construction underway in the spring. Anyone who would like to donate can contact Morgan Rivers at 606-356-6405.
