governor.ky.gov

Governor Beshear says Kentucky schools should get more money when the General Assembly approves a new state budget next year. He says they need additional support to help prepare students for the 21st Century economy…

"We are going to work very hard in this upcoming session…hopefully to find revenues that we can increase our educational funding." - Governor Steve Beshear

The governor says Kentucky’s school funding difficulties have been magnified by the federal government. School districts in the Commonwealth have lost 81-million dollars because of across-the-board cuts to education that took effect March 1st because of the federal budget sequestration.
