Good Grades Equal Free MSU Basketball Tickets for Kids

It certainly pays dividends to get good grades at every level of school, especially elementary school, and now Morehead State Athletics has an incentive for local elementary-age kids who achieve high academic standards and have perfect attendance - free tickets.

MSU is pleased to announce its academic achievement recognition games for elementary students at men's basketball. Athletics would like to congratulate each applicable student with a complimentary ticket (with the purchase of one adult ticket) to our upcoming academic achievement games.

The first of four academic achievement games are coming soon with the first two scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17 versus East Tennessee State at 2 p.m. ET and Saturday, Jan 7 versus SIU Edwardsville at 4:15 p.m. (doubleheader with the women's team).

All elementary students who are on the honor roll, met reading goals, positive behavior programs and perfect attendance are eligible for the recognition. Throughout the games, students will be welcomed and congratulated with videos from the men's basketball team.

"Here at Morehead State Athletics we believe that academics and athletics go hand in hand," said Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs Brad Smith. "We encourage all parents to bring their children and come celebrate their hard work with us."

Also, kids and parents are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or plush toy to the Dec. 17 game for the "Teddy Bear Toss." At halftime, fans will toss teddy bears or plush toys onto the court with the chance to win prizes based on where they land. All toys will then be collected and donated to a local charity.

Ticket forms have been sent to participating elementary schools in Rowan, Carter, Bath, Fleming, Montgomery, Lewis and Boyd Counties. The deadline to order tickets for either Dec. 17 or Jan. 7 is Dec. 15.
