Freedom Fest, Hometown Holiday & More in Tentative Planning

Downtown Morehead, Inc. Facebook Page

As the vaccine rollout moves forward in the Commonwealth and virus numbers continue on a downward trend, Morehead officials are discussing the potential return of some popular events later in the year.

The regular March meeting of Morehead City Council was held at the Rowan County Board of Education Monday night.  During the meeting, Tony Pence, the Executive Director of Downtown Morehead Incorporated, gave an update on his organization.  He says planning is in the very early stages, but Fazoli’s Freedom Fest, Hometown Holiday and other events could be making a return in 2021.

Pence went on to say the decision on having those events would ultimately come down to a few factors:  Health Department directives and the status of Kentucky’s virus and vaccination rate.
