Dr. Nancy B. Johnson, former provost of Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), gave a guest lecture on leadership for the college’s Honors Program on Tuesday, March 28 on the Prestonsburg campus.
Dr. Johnson retired in 2016 after spending 38 years in higher education. She started her career at Maysville Community and Technical College and came to BSCTC in 1998. She served as provost from 2005 to 2016.
Myra Elliott, dean of academic services, said it is important for students to have a firm understanding of leadership.
“Dr. Johnson served our institution with dignity and pride, and I wanted her to share some of her experiences with our students,” said Elliott. “It was a thought-provoking conversation, and I feel our students left with a better understanding of leadership.”
