Former Pastor Arraigned

The former Student Pastor of Better Life Church accused of exposing himself to multiple individuals has been arraigned.

Attorney Ben Shields with the firm White, Peck, Carrington entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client Jacob Steagall Monday morning.  Steagall is charged 2nd degree indecent exposure:  a Class B misdemeanor.

Shields waved Steagall’s formal arraignment before Rowan District Judge Willie Roberts.

Steagall was released from the Rowan County Detention Center on a $2,500 surety bond Friday night.  The conditions of the bond stipulate Steagall may not make contact with any alleged victims or complaining witnesses and he may not be within 500 feet of the location of the alleged offence.

A pre-trial conference for Steagall has been set for October 26th.
