The Rowan County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation regarding alleged sexual misconduct by a former pastor with Better Life Church in Morehead.
A message from the church originally sent to their staff and volunteers began circulating on social media over the weekend. The statement said the church was made aware that Pastor Jacob had a quote “personal problem that had become a pattern of behavior” on August 24th, and resigned the following day.
Pastor Jacob has since been identified on social media as former Student Pastor Jacob Steagall. No additional details of the allegations have been released, but the church statement did say there was never any physical contact or molestation.
Deputy Donnie Hall is conducting the investigation.
Hall says the investigation is in the very early stages and he had yet to speak with Steagall or Better Life Church officials as of Monday afternoon.
