'A Fine Line’ Open Through November 29th

Fifty-five artists will display their artwork in “A Fine Line: Contemporary Drawing” at the main gallery of Morehead State University's Claypool-Young Art Building through Nov. 29. 

Anne Harris was a student at the Breckenridge Training School, which was on the campus of MSU. Her father, a doctor, and mother, an architect, practiced in the Morehead area. While at MSU, she also will visit with students in drawing and art foundation courses.

Harris spoke at the opening on Oct. 16.

The exhibition’s diversity of work showcases the conceptual and media possibilities in drawing, ranging from pencil, ink, paint, textiles, sculpture and alternative materials. 

Two participating artists will present lectures in conjunction with the exhibition. Roscoe Landon Wilson, an artist who works in multiple media including sculpture, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 12:40 – 1:40 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 8, Tamie Beldue will be speaking from 10:20 – 11:20 a.m. and 12:40 – 1:40 p.m. about her figurative drawings, paintings and prints. 

All lectures are open to the public and will be held in 111 Claypool-Young.

The gallery in Claypool-Young features contemporary art for the MSU community as well as the University’s service region. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or by appointment. There is no charge for viewing and the public is invited. Parking is available on Main Street during the day, and on the MSU campus after 5 p.m. weekdays, and all day on weekends.
