ESPNU To Showcase Men's Basketball

MSU Athletics

The Morehead State men's basketball game at Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 8, 2014 will be televised live by ESPNU.  Tip-off from McBrayer Arena in Richmond is set for 11 a.m.

Morehead State is now guaranteed four national television games in 2013-14.  The Eagles could add two more if they advance to the championship game of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.

"Our national TV schedule is coming together very nicely," Head Coach Sean Woods said.  "We're excited that our product will be available to the entire country at least four times this season."

ESPNU is a 24-hour college sports television network, which launched in 2005.  It airs more than 650 live events each year and is available nationwide in approximately 73 million households.

"National TV games are terrific exposure for everyone associated with our program," Woods said.  "Millions of people will have the chance to watch Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky on February 8."

Morehead State's last national television appearance was an ESPNU tilt at Tennessee State on February 28, 2013.  The Eagles shot 62 percent that night en route to a thrilling 101-100 league victory.

The OVC recently announced a five-year extension with ESPN.  The MSU at EKU contest is part of a seven-game package, which includes four regular-season tilts and three league tournament affairs.

Both OVC Tournament semifinals on March 7 will be shown live on ESPNU.  The OVC Tournament championship on March 8 will be shown live on ESPN2.  All contests will be played in Nashville.

Morehead State opens exhibition play at Johnson Arena on November 2 against St. Catharine (KY).  The Eagles then begin regular-season action at home on November 9 against Mid-Continent (KY).
