Eleven Eagles Named to All-Pioneer Football League Teams

Eleven Morehead State student-athletes have been named to the 2014 All-Pioneer Football League Teams.

Justin Cornwall was named to the first-team as a return specialist. Brandon Bornhauser, Joshua Brunner, Ronald Cooper, Chris Fookes, Austin Gahafer, Justin Grier, Alex Hey, Mike Jackson, Luke Keller and Jake Raymond were tabbed honorable mention.

"I am proud of all our players who earned All-PFL honors," Head Coach Rob Tenyer said. "We had some outstanding individual performances this season."

Cornwall, a junior slot receiver from Cincinnati, ranked second in the conference in kick return average (22.9 yards) while recording a career-long of 47 yards against Jacksonville. He also averaged 12.9 yards on punt returns, including a career-best 58-yarder at Davidson. Cornwall tied for the team lead with six touchdown receptions while producing 420 receiving yards.

Bornhauser, a senior slot receiver from Cincinnati, led the Eagles with 10 touchdowns. He registered seven scores on the ground, two through the air, passed for one and returned a kick for another. Bornhauser tallied 1,000 all-purpose yards, including 338 receiving and 236 rushing yards.

Offensive linemen Brunner, a senior from Pittsburgh, Fookes, a junior from Florence, Ky., and Hey, a junior from Bryan, Ohio, blocked for a unit which ranked second in the league in total yards (429.2 per game) and passing yards (276.1). The front line also ranked second in the PFL in fewest sacks allowed (16).

Cooper, a junior defensive lineman from Atlanta, finished with 43 total tackles and eight tackles for loss. He also ranked second on the team with four sacks and blocked a kick.

Gahafer, a sophomore quarterback from Louisville, ranked second in the conference in passing yards per game (236.7) and touchdowns (23). He totaled 2,840 passing yards, 207 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. Gahafer had a trio of 300-yard efforts.

Grier, a junior cornerback from Saks, Ala., led the team with seven pass break-ups. He notched 59 total tackles, including 45 solo stops, and recorded two interceptions, both in the Stetson contest.

Jackson, a senior safety from Cincinnati, led the defense with three interceptions and also blocked a kick. He made 59 total stops, including 39 solo tackles.

Keller, a junior linebacker from Lucasville, Ohio, paced the team with 87 total tackles while leading the unit with 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. He also forced two fumbles and blocked a kick.

Raymond, a sophomore slot receiver from Pickerington, Ohio, led the team in receptions (71), yards (697) and touchdowns (6) for the second consecutive season. He ranked fourth in the PFL in receptions per game (5.9) while averaging 58.1 yards per outing.
