Senior Michael Pinsonneault recorded a career-best 68 on Monday (September 9) in the second round of the Wasioto Winds Fall Kick-Off Invitational. The Morehead State men's golf team is fourth out of seven schools entering the final round.

The Eagles (595) tallied rounds of 303 and 292 on the opening day at Wasioto Winds Golf Course.  UT Martin (568), Murray State (584) and Walters State (593) are ahead of MSU, while Pikeville (600), Bellarmine (606) and Spalding (619) round-out the field.

UT Martin, Murray State and Morehead State are all members of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Pinsonneault opened the event with an 80, but cut 12 shots off his first round to card a two-round 148.  His previous career low was a 69 on Oct. 11, 2011.

Sophomore Brad Newnam, playing as an individual, led the Eagles by registering scores of 68 and 72.  He is third out of 45 golfers with 18 holes to play.

Pinsonneault is tied for 12th individually, while sophomore Will Branham, sophomore Logan Hogge and freshman Ryan Daniels (150) all own a share of 18th.

Brad Hawkins, from Walters State in Tennessee, posted a 70-65--135 and leads the individual race.

A total of nine Morehead State golfers are competing in the event.  The final round is set for Tuesday, September 10.  The course plays at a par of 72 and yardage of 6,735.
