Chrysalis House opens new Residential Treatment Program for pregnant and parenting women

Chrysalis House

Chrysalis House is expanding capacity from 46 beds to 62.

A grand opening celebration will be held at the new facility located at 1374 Bull Lea Rd., Lexington, KY on Thursday, December 20, 2:00pm-4:00pm. Refreshments provided by Apiary Fine Catering and Events, with music by Stoll Vaughan.

Unique to this venture is the state and community partnerships.

The building is located on the grounds of Eastern State Hospital, made available through a lease facilitated by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. The University of Kentucky’s Beyond Birth Clinic is located next door to provide much needed services.

“We appreciate the partnerships that made this happen,” said Lisa Minton, Chrysalis House Executive Director. “As Chrysalis House celebrates 40 years of saving lives, we are excited to open our fourth residential treatment facility for women and their babies. Chrysalis House helps women in recovery achieve healthy pregnancies and learn to be mothers to their children. Any family which has suffered with the pain of addiction knows that the role of the mother is key to a healthy, productive family life. Investing in a mother is investing in a family and investing in a family is investing in a community.”

Chrysalis House is Kentucky’s oldest and largest licensed substance abuse treatment program for women.  Established in 1978, Chrysalis House has grown into a comprehensive agency with multiple residential facilities and a multi-purpose community center.
