Morehead State football junior linebacker/defensive lineman Cameron Barrett has been named to the District II Academic All-District squad as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Barrett, from Dayton, Ky., possesses a 3.77 cumulative grade point average in marketing and has been a member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll.
This season Barrett has been playing at the weak end position on the defensive line as has 25 total tackles to his credit. He also has 4.0 tackles in the opponent backfields with 2.5 sacks. He also has two quarterback hurries.
With Barrett's award, he now goes on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
The 2019 Academic All-District Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
