Bryant Publishes Research on Marginalized Student Groups

Morehead State University

Samantha J. Bryant, associate director for Upward Bound Math and Science at Morehead State and a Doctor of Education candidate, recently published her research in a peer-reviewed journal.

Bryant's paper, "An examination of high-impact strategies that increase success in marginalized student groups," will be featured in the Fall 2021 edition of Community College Enterprise. In preparation for her doctoral dissertation, Bryant is conducting research related to best practices for marginalized student groups, primarily those from low-income, first-generation backgrounds.

"I am elated to share the beginning of my research with others," Bryant said. "Hailing from a low-income, first-generation background myself, I realize the importance of such research and have felt the implications first-hand."

Community College Enterprise publishes original research that expands knowledge of the structure and nature of teaching and learning within the community college arena.
