Beshear wins Rowan

Morehead saw a higher than anticipated voter turnout with 46.6% showing up at the polls for the gubernatorial election on Tuesday. 

In the Governor’s race, Attorney General Andy Beshear beat Incumbent Governor Matt Bevin in Rowan County, 4,045  votes to 2,744. Libertarian John Hick received 130 votes.

In the Attorney General’s race, Democrat Greg Stumbo had 3,522 over Republican newcomer Daniel Cameron with 3,329 votes.

In the Secretary of State’s race, Republican Michal Adams received 3,052 while Democrat Heather French Henry led Rowan with 3,824 votes. 

For auditor of public accounts, Republican Mike Harmon won Rowan with a slim margin over Democrat Sheri Donahue.  They received 3,262 and 3,225 respectively.  Libertarian Kyle Hugenberg received 232 votes.

In the State Treasurer’s race, Republican Allison Ball received 3,576 votes while Democrat Michael Bowman received 3,200 votes in Rowan.
