Officials with the National Weather Service in Jackson are warning that an incoming system will bring three to five inches of snow accumulation.

Portions of eastern Kentucky are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 9 p.m. Sunday until noon on Tuesday. The cities of Morehead, Owingsville, Mt. Sterling, Camargo and Jeffersonville are included in the alert.

Meteorologists report snow is expected to start Sunday night, with the possibility of dropping up to three inches of accumulation. Another round is forecast late Monday into early Tuesday and could result in another two inches of snow accumulation. However, the NWS said generally, one inch of accumulation is expected in each round of snow.

Officials warn that road conditions could become slippery and hazardous. Drivers are encouraged to go slow and use caution.
