The Poppy Mountain Trail Fest, a combination off-road park events and a music festival, is set to take place later this month.

Dylan Stevens organized the event and said there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

“We do a lot of events with pretty decent payouts,” said Stevens. “We got hill climbs for different classes, side by sides, rail buggies, dirt bikes. Like for the side by sides the winner’s going to get $3,000 and we got trophies to give away and all that. We’re doing a poker run throughout the whole place and we got mud runs for the mudders who want to come and mud, cash prizes along with that also.”

The trail events will take place on Poppy Mountain, well known for bringing musicians to the area for festivals throughout the years.

“We’ve been doing a music festival for the past 31 years. People, Jamey Johnson, we’ve had Bailey Zimmerman last year, Noah Thompson, we’ve had a lot of big names in the past years, and it’s been a really big festival and people come worldwide and it’s really big here in Eastern Kentucky for sure,” said Stevens.

Attendees at the trail festival can expect to see Chase Matthews on Saturday, October 28. Kentucky Music Mafia and Corey Hedge will perform on Friday.

“I’d just like to see everybody out and it’s going to be a real good time and even if you ain’t got something to come ride you can come and watch the shows, the hill climbs, the mud runs, the live music and just hang out,” said Stevens.

The event will take place at Poppy Mountain 8030 US Highway 60 E Morehead, KY 40351 on October 27 and 28. More information can be found on the Poppy Mountain Trail Fest Facebook page, or by calling (606) 784-2277.
