A trio of Morehead State football student-athletes have been tabbed to the official Preseason All-Pioneer League Team. Honorees included senior center Cam Marriott, redshirt sophomore defensive back Cooper Krezek and sophomore long snapper Brady McKnight.

The Eagles open the season Aug. 27 at Mercer, followed by a trip to Montana State on Sept. 10. The home opener is Sept. 17 vs. Kentucky Christian.

Marriott, a mainstay on the offensive line for the past four seasons, is from Redlands, Calif. He was named First-Team All-PFL in 2021 as well as First-Team Academic All-PFL. He helped the Eagles rank among the top teams in the nation in offensive yardage and particularly the passing game.

McKnight, from Stephens City, Va., helped the Eagles lead the PFL in punting in 2021 with no bad snaps. His efforts helped punter Andrew Foster set a PFL record for punting average and also set and re-set the program record for consecutive PATs made. McKnight was named First-Team All-PFL and to the Academic All-PFL Team as well. He was also named Freshman All-American by two separate outlets.

From Kansas City, Mo., Krezek made an impression in the defensive backfield, ranking second on the team and among PFL leaders with 80 total tackles. He also had 10 passes defended. He compiled six games with at least eight tackles and ended with six tackles for loss. Krezek was chosen to the official Second-Team All-PFL team.
