Rowan Water, Inc. has issued a boil water advisory for all Rowan Water customers

WDEF

The following notice provided by the Morehead Utility Plant Board:

Due to difficulties faced in chemically treating flood waters from the heavy rainfall on November 30, 2019 and December 1, 2019, the water at our current intake is not able to be treated within drinking water requirements.

The Morehead Utility Plant Board (MUPB) has reached out to the Army Corp of Engineers for assistance in water quality and release.

The water levels in MUPB's storage tanks have dropped to critically low levels. In order to maintain fire protection to the community, MUPB has been forced to put water into its distribution system that is above the maximum turbidity level of 0.3 NTUs.

As a result of this emergency, MUPB has initiated a system wide Boil Water Advisory at 4:01 P.M, on December 1, 2019 for all customers that receive our water until further notice.

This includes Bath Water and Rowan Water Inc.
