Fans of Lexington’s premier country music festival won’t have to fret about storms or blistering temperatures ruining the fun this year. The show is picking up the equipment and heading indoors.

"Over the past three years, we've literally had the biggest names in country. Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line..." says Michael Jordan with iHeartMedia.

But the popular event has outgrown its long-time home at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, he says.

"It's the one festival in the country that runs three days but doesn't offer camping. It doesn't offer some of the amenities that an outdoor festival would," Jordan explains. "So looking at it, we feel like the artists are at a level that the fans are going to attend the show whether it be outdoors or indoors."

This year, the  country music attraction will instead camp out inside Rupp Arena. And the new venue will come with added bonuses: a bigger lineup (up from 12 to 15), reserved seating, and lower ticket prices, starting at $99.

The artists, including five headliners, will be announced on Monday on the official Red, White and Boom website. Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m.
