Volleyball wraps-up season following loss to Austin Peay

MSU Athletics

After honoring Allie Evans and Jessica Hall in the Eagles' annual senior day pregame ceremony, Morehead State concluded its 2017 season with a 3-0 loss to Ohio Valley Conference regular season champion Austin Peay on Saturday at Wetherby Gym.

The Eagles fell in three contested sets by score of 25-23, 25-20, and 25-18. Morehead State wrapped up the season with a 14-15 overall record and a 5-11 mark in the OVC. The Lady Governors improve to 27-5 on the season, moving to 14-2 in conference play.

Freshman middle Olivia Lohmeier entered the match on the heels of what was arguably her best game as an Eagle last Tuesday, recording a career-high 17 kills and zero errors in a 3-1 win over Eastern Kentucky. Lohmeier logged 13 kills and five digs with a .312 hitting percentage in Saturday's loss.

In the final match of her career, Evans tallied five kills to finish her time at Morehead State with a total of 330. Evans appeared in over 100 matches in her four-year campaign, appearing on the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll each season. The Lexington, Ky. native is set to graduate from MSU in December.

Hall built on her career total of over 30 service aces, tallying one more on Saturday against the Lady Govs. The former Paintsville High School (Ky.) standout was also named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll multiple times, and is set to graduate next May.
