Traffic Advisory: US 60 closed at Salt Lick overnight Wednesday

WYMT-TV

Contractors will close US 60 just east of the KY 211 intersection in Salt Lick overnight Wednesday for drainage pipe installation.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday night, Sept. 5, crews will close US 60 to all traffic near milepoint 16.5 on the Farmers side (east) of KY 211 at Salt Lick to cut through the road and install a drainage pipe. The road will remain closed until 5 a.m. Thursday morning, Sept. 6.

Motorists may use KY 801 and I-64 between Exit 123 at Owingsville (US 60) and Exit 133 at Sharkey-Farmers (KY 801) to detour around the closure. Electronic message boards will be used to inform motorists of specific schedules and changes.

The work is part of an $800,000 Kentucky Transportation Cabinet highway safety improvement project that will shift the KY 211 intersection at US 60 in Salt Lick eastward several hundred feet to create a new intersection and close the existing one. The project is being done under a $788,645.61 low-bid Transportation Cabinet contract awarded to the Walker Company of Kentucky Inc.
