Soccer Prepares for NCAA Opener at Wake Forest

MSU Athletics

Morehead State will make its third NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament appearance in school history on Saturday when it travels to Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Wake Forest. Kick-off from W. Dennie Spry Stadium is set for 7 p.m. ET.

The Morehead State soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over host UT Martin on Sunday afternoon in the finale of the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Championship at Skyhawk Field. Junior forward Macy Cobb provided the only score MSU needed in the 46th minute, off an assist from sophomore defender Kelsey Gomez. Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Floyd was credited with a season-best seven saves for MSU, while junior forward Jade Flory recorded two shots. The Eagles, who are 10-10-1 overall, head into the NCAA Tournament with victories in seven of their last eight matches.
