Senior Art Exhibition Opens April 23

The main gallery of Morehead State University's Claypool-Young Art Building will present "Stepping Into The Future: 2014 Annual MSU Senior Juried Art Exhibition,” April 23 through May 7.

The annual show is an opportunity for MSU Department of Art and Design students to exhibit as emerging artists in a professional setting. The exhibition opens with a reception featuring live music by MSU students and complimentary refreshments on Wednesday, April 23, from 5-7 p.m., where awards including Best in Show, first, second, and third will be announced at 6 p.m.

Blanton, Hueysville; Maria Blevins, Maysville; Sara Brooks, Nicholasville; Amber Dillon, Morehead; Juanita Dixon, Olive Hill; Austin Everman, Grayson; Beverly Kiara Gabbard, Morehead; Alex Gubser, Cincinnati; Charles Hackney, Elkhorn City; Caitlin Hall, Louisa; Jeff Hehr, Maysville; Callie Himes; Winchester; Ina Huffman, Vanceburg;

Travis Johnson, Olive Hill; James Justice, Pikeville; Bethany King, Butler; Megan Lindsey, Morehead; Laura McVey, Mt. Sterling; Rachel Penniman, Winchester; Maria Risner, Hindman; Kara Staggs, Harlan; Rebecca Thomas, Princeton; Ericka Varney, Pikeville; Haley Walls, Stanford; Jonathan A. Washko, Milford; K.S. René White, Chavies; Melonie Jolene Whiting, Paintsville; Andrew Williamson, Sandy Hook; and Rachel Yanko, Versailles.

The gallery, within Claypool-Young, features contemporary art for the MSU community as well as the University’s service region.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment, and is free and open to the public. Parking is available on Main Street and across campus after 5 p.m.
