Several personal bests, including personal records in combined score by freshman Katie Frye and junior Alexa Potts, pushed Morehead State Rifle to a 4,635-4,536 victory over visiting UT Martin Saturday at Button Rifle Range.
The Eagles are now 2-0 on the young 2018-19 season.
Frye led the Eagles, and all shooters, on the air rifle range with a 588. She added a 572 smallbore total for a personal record 1160 combined score. Frye also tied her smallbore standing PR with a 186. Potts tied her smallbore personal best with a 576 and fired a 587 in air for a combined 1163.
In smallbore, senior Brandon Bryer led the way with a 577, including a personal-best tying 199 in prone. Freshman Erin Diehl set a prone high for herself with a 195, while sophomore Ryan Hinson totaled 572, assisted by a standing PR of 193.
Freshman Amber Schifano rounded out the personal standards today with a 186 in kneeling.
In air, Bryer (585), Hinson (583) and senior Siarra Crum (583) also eclipsed the 580 mark.
UTM was paced by Rachel Sprague, who fashioned a 576 in smallbore and a 577 in air rifle.
