Residents of Menifee County are invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a proposed rockfall mitigation project on KY 1274 near Cave Run Lake.
The meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, from 5-7 p.m. at the Menifee County High School cafeteria. It will be an “open house” format meeting with no formal presentation.
Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Handouts will be available describing the project’s purpose and need, the right of way acquisition process and potential utility relocation concerns.
A project is under development to reduce the rockfall hazard, thus improving highway safety, along two segments of KY 1274. One is about a mile east of the Longbow boat ramp, and the other is near the Menifee/Rowan county line. The project is in the preliminary design phase. No timetable for right of way acquisition or construction has been established.
Persons with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting but have special accessibility needs that require assistance should contact the project manager, Min Jiang, at (606) 666-8841 to request special assistance.
