Hitchcock named to CCDD

Morehead State Public Radio (MSPR) General Manager Paul Hitchcock (88) has been named to the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities (CCDD).

The mission of the CCDD is to strengthen education, inclusion and advocacy efforts for people with developmental disabilities to increase their involvement and engagement with the community.
Hitchcock said he’s excited to start working with the council to improve the lives of those with developmental disabilities in Kentucky.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to strengthen and enhance the potential of individuals, families and communities to become more self-sufficient through public policy initiatives, advocacy programs and community building,” Hitchcock said.

Hitchcock began his career at MSPR in 1986, taking over as general manager in 2003. He has served on several advisory boards and councils, including the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, where he served as both president and vice president; the MSU Staff Congress and the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Board of Directors, among several others. Hitchcock has earned several awards for his community service, including the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Service Above Self Award, the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy and the Kentucky Arts Council’s Governor’s Award in the Arts: Media Award.
