Morehead State senior quarterback Austin Gahafer is one of 40 players named to the College Football Performance Awards Midseason FCS National Performer of the Year Watch List.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Gahafer has already set numerous records this season. Currently he leads the PFL with 2,745 passing yards and 22 touchdowns on 218-of-387 through the air.
He has set the PFL and MSU career records for passing yards (11,259), total offense (11,573), passing completions (1,060) and passing attempts (1,773). He also holds the MSU career mark for passing touchdowns (82) and the MSU single-game yardage standard (465 at Butler on Nov. 5).
He is 19th in FCS level history in career passing yards and ranks fourth all-time in FCS history in attempts, needing just 14 more passes to move to second on that list.
