A former volunteer firefighter has been arrested for arson in Carter County.
29-year-old Anthony Ramirez was arrested early Tuesday morning after being indicted for 1st Degree Arson – a Class A felony.
The indictment alleges that Ramirez started a fire on March 21st at the Shangri-La Apartments, which he knew to be inhabited.
Grayson police Sergeant Travis Steele says at the time of the incident, Ramirez held a position of trust.
If convicted – Ramirez could face 25 years to life in prison for the offense. He is being held in the Carter County Detention Center on a $250-thousand dollar bond.
